How To Become Successful In Blogger With SEO

1. Choose a good keyword to focus on.

The first step is simply to select the search term or phrase you want to be sent to. When I write about the best toys for small dogs, I will want to find out what people really want.

The easiest way to do this is to use Google Keyword Planner, a free tool that will show you the rating of any search phrase. (Although Keyword Planner is free, you may need to set up an AdWords account to gain access.)

For example, I have noticed that "small dog toys" receive 590 searches every month - higher than any other combination of related words. However, I am not yet fully prepared to start writing about this topic. First, I need to do some research.

2. Research the competition.

Now that I have a name I want to try to balance, I will hide it and make a recon!

Jump into your "private browsing mode" in your web browser ("Incognito" in Chrome, "Privacy" in Safari and Firefox, "InPrivate" in Internet Explorer) and go to Google.com. (In my company, we create "private mode" because we do not want Google to use our past search history to influence what we see on the search results page.)

View all content on the Google homepage, and ignore any ads results above. 10 results (however) are your competition! What are they missing? Can you do better?

3. Write great content.

Now that you know what your competition looks like, it's time to create content that will be for those offshore. This is the hardest part, but it is very important. It needs to be amazing.

I don't care if you create a blog post, an ecommerce store page or a landing sales page. It needs to be better than anything else, otherwise Google or your audience will not pay attention to you.

As an example of an article I just wrote - with this goal in mind - see "How to Be a Millionaire: A Final Guide." My goal with this post was to write great content for that topic.

4. Enter a keyword in the title of your page.

This should not be a no-brainer, but I will say it anyway: Your page title should contain your keyword, but that doesn't mean it should be specific (or it may be).

Plus, the title should also be interesting enough that people will want to click it! A good example of this would be PT from PTMoney.com, who wrote a great post about "making more money." However, instead of a boring topic, such as "Make More Money," you have called it "52 Ways to Make More Money." Now that's something I'd like to read.

5. Enter a keyword in your header.

You can edit more web pages by having a larger header at the top, followed by several sub-headings throughout the page (such as the headings below this post).

This organization is not only useful for people who are scrolling through blog-post articles, it helps to show Google exactly how much your blog post is. Therefore, be sure to use your keyword phrase at least once in your subheadings.

6. Enter a keyword in the name and alt-tag of your image.

Next, if your blog posts have pictures, you can use those pictures to reinforce the idea on Google about the topic of your post. There are two ways to do this:

1. Image name

2. Alarm image tag

To change an image name, simply change the name of the image on your computer before uploading. Instead of a file called "2831274.jpg," you can rename something like "little dog toys 1.jpg."

The "alt tag" is something you select after uploading an image to your website. Without having to deal with a lot of technology, the alt marker is simply a text that a web browser will display when an image can't load for some reason.

7. Use a keyword in URL and post.

One way Google can determine what your blog is about is a URL. In other words, we're talking about coming after ".com" to your url (or .net, .org, whatever you use). For example, which of the following URLs do you think Google likes best when you decide not to show a particular page?

You are right when you guess the second one. While the past may not be completely perfect in your SEO efforts, the latter helps to show Google exactly what this post is about.

8. Enter internal links.

If you don’t talk about your great content, why should someone else care? For this reason, it is important that your excellent SEO content is linked internally to other pages on your website.

Yes, this means you may need to go back and edit some old posts to include links to new, incredible content.

9. Most Important SEO Tip: Get External Links.

Okay, finally at the end of the main: external links.

External links are links from websites that do not belong to you. Google relies heavily on external links to determine how good a post is. And that makes sense, doesn't it? You can talk about yourself and your skills all day long, but no one will believe you. But as soon as some people start bragging about you, others notice.

While producing incredible content can get you some links, the reality is that you will have to create a "link structure." This means accessing other website owners into the space for requesting links. For some great tips for finding these links, I would love to read Backlinko.com.
