How to TAG YouTube Videos to RANK HIGHER
If you are planning to enlarge the content of your video via Youtube (which may be appropriate), here is a comprehensive guide to tag Youtube.
According to YouTube, tagging is one of the most important ways to place your video in YouTube search results:
Tags help users find your video when they search the site. When users type keywords related to your tags your video will appear in their search results.
YouTube does not consider user engagement again (such as the number of views, views similar to user retention) but tagging is a first step to place your video in YouTube search results (and thus you have a better chance of being selected in Universal Results again).

The scientific method (but still used to start thinking) of classifying YouTube tags (pdf) groups all tags as follows:
1. Standard relationship between the tag and video content:
a. The tag identifies the video in its main category and purpose - it does not require any specific subject information needed to make this distinction (e.g. video of a cat, marked as 'cat' or 'animal').
b. YouTube Category or Genre (e.g. Comedy, Entertainment, Music)
2. Specific relationship between the tag and video content:
a. The marker identifies the video. Familiarity or other existing information is needed to make this connection (this can be names, places, places, etc.).
3. The tag is only useful for a few users, an individual or a group
a. Filter tag (Non-standalone tag - only useful if considered part of large tags (e.g., episodes of a specific video series)
b. Automatic tagging (e.g. “My dog”),
4. Invalid/invalid tags (those may vary from the marking and marking of misspelled words to combinations and extensions).

Reflecting on Youtube Tags
Most of the benefits of YouTube suggest adding as many relevant tags as possible (of course, that doesn't mean you need hundreds of them but throwing away the most important dozen important ones in your ratings). YouTube does not limit the number of tags and is a good sign.
I agree that we need to use a few tags, but the focus is on “smart” or “educated” tags:
1) Enter Your Clear Product Tags
This comes first because it is often overlooked!
- You want to rate your brand name in YouTube search results;
Want You want your videos to appear in all Google results!
So you never want to forget that you "referenced" your video:
- By your name (by which the country is known);
Name Your product name: best in a few variants, such as [product name], [product name], and [brandname.com]
2) Use YouTube Auto-Suggest
Next up with a play on YouTube search results slightly. Two things we want to do here:
See what YouTube suggests what you type when you search (you want to rate all those words);
Identify a few videos that frequently appear in key search queries (especially the default "by Relevance" tab)
So what you will do next is try a random search based on keywords in order and take a note of two of the things I listed above:
Liked Automatic Suggestion: Each new book you submit brings more suggestions:
3) Use YouTube Tag Generator
Rapidtags.io can be used to generate Youtube tags and get more ideas:
Adding tags
Now that you've carefully collected all the relevant tags, throw them in an Excel spreadsheet and use all sorts of conditional filters and formats to identify your best “keywords” that you want to add to your tags.
For example, you can use the "Find and replace" feature to highlight all "free" cells in yellow (learn more about setting your keyword modifiers "oldie but goodie"
Also, while you are free to play with the above tools to generate a lot of keyword ideas, the main point of this step is to identify your most important words to build on. After all, you do not want hundreds of tags added. Instead, you want to add the best.
For this:
- Remove the words “stop” (especially the clauses “a” / “the”);
- Go for a variety of similar phrases (this is usually your best bet);
- Know what YouTube suggests what you use (maybe it knows its stuff).
Additional Steps
YouTube has both tags and hashtags, so to avoid confusion, please use the checklist:
Finally, Youtube advises against tagging hashtags and hashtags, so stay away from tag spam:
